St. Patty’s Day Craft Cocktail

Leprechauns, four leaf clovers, good times and all things green!  The celebration of St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, on March 17 has everyone seeing green.  This traditional day of cheer is synonymous with green alcohol, and our favorite reason to host a St. Patrick’s Day party with style!

Hosting a St. Patty’s day gathering, calls for creativity with green drinks. Treat your guests to an added layer of personalization, by using your very own craft wine in the mix.  Not only is using your own craft wine in a cocktail a great conversation starter, but you’ll impress your guests with your creativity and customized cocktail creation.

Spread the cheer of the emerald isle with our lip-smacking Pinot Green-io cocktail, using our En Primeur  Winery Series Italy Pinot Grigio!

You will need:

1 peeled Kiwi

2 tablespoons of mango juice

1 tablespoon of sweet basil

2oz of En Primeur Winery Series Italy Pinot Grigio

Directions:

Muddle kiwi, add mango juice, sweet basil and Pinot Grigio. Pour into a shaker and shake vigorously. Pour into a Coupe glass and garnish with a peeled kiwi slice.

Please join Luscious Wines Fruit of the Vine and Olive-Me & Co. for an exclusive tasting experience of Craft Wines, Extra-Virgin Olive Oils, Gourmet Olive Oils and aged Balsamic Vinegars, paired with tempting charcuterie, breads and fruits.

Sommeliers Paul and Breanne from Luscious together with Missy and Jennifer of Olive-Me & Co.  will tantalize your taste buds and  guide you through:

 The art of understanding how to taste and evaluate oils and vinegars and wine.

 · Participate in a structured wine tasting; understand acidity, sweetness, body, alcohol, and    tannin. Look-Smell-Taste

· Basic food pairings
· Wine faults
· Discuss olive oil standards, sensory evaluation and detecting defects in your olive oil. How to tell if it is fresh as well as the many health benefits of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
· How to match and marry flavours to complement your own palate and cooking style.
· By tasting different olive oils, you can start to learn what you like – Tuscan style or Spanish style, buttery or grassy, one brand over another, etc. and which to use in different dishes. For example, consider that an olive oil that's too strong on its own might be perfect when added to salad.
    

Tickets are $20.00 (incl tax) per guest and must be purchased in advance. Limited spots are available.

LIMITED RELEASE ORCHARD BREEZIN’ WHITE SANGRIA

 

 

CELEBRATE SUMMER WITH OUR LIMITED RELEASE ORCHARD BREEZIN’ WHITE SANGRIA

 

Featuring lively flavours of juicy peach, ripe apricot and orange for fresh, easy drinking wine with a smooth finish. Perfectly timed for the summer season and ready to drink in just 4 weeks!

Pairs well with zesty fish tacos and mango salsa, lemon garlic shrimp skewers or a grilled peach, basil and feta salad. YUM

 

Zesty Fish Tacos with Mango Salsa

Yield: Serves 4 (serving size: 2 tacos)

Tacos:

1 pound of your choice of fish

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Cooking oil

Corn tortillas

2 cups shredded red cabbage

Mango Salsa:

1 ¾ cups diced peeled mangos

1/4 cup diced red onion

Directions

To prepare salsa, combine ingredients in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

To prepare tacos, preheat grill to medium-high heat. Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper. Place fish on grill rack coated with cooking spray; cook 5 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Remove from grill; break into chunks with a fork. While fish cooks, warm tortillas according to package directions.  Spoon 3 ounces fish, 1/4 cup salsa, and 1/4 cup cabbage onto each tortilla; fold in half.
